How To Find The Right Hair Loss Treatment For Men

Loss of hair is fairly common in men and that is why so many products have been busy targeting this segment of the market with their various concoctions. So how do you find genuine hair loss treatment for men?

If you have already had the chance to try out these products you will already know that most of them do not work. And so it would be a good idea to first understand hair loss better before we look at possible remedial measures.

Let us start by looking at various myths some of which have been around for such a long time that folks have began to consider them as fact. You may have heard some people say that hair loss is caused by stress. Others are sure that it is related in some way to excess sweating. Or wearing a baseball cap way too often. It is also claimed that folks who wore their hair in a ponytail in their younger years are bound to suffer hair loss later in life. Some folks are sure that it usually has something to do with nutrient deficiency.

All these statements are totally false. None of the things we have mentioned will cause hair loss in men. Not even in women.

Hair loss has to do with hormones and nothing else. The specific hormones that we are talking about here are called Androgens. In other words you will lose hair because your genetic make up has programmed you to do so. It is like a virus planted in your computer that is scheduled to start taking effect on a certain date in future. In the case of your scalp your follicles have been programmed to start reacting at a certain age and what happens is that they start responding to the changing hormonal activity on your scalp. The body responds by rejecting them and hence hair loss begins.

This is an important piece of information because it tells you that only two types of treatment are going to have any impact on hair loss treatment for men.

The first type of treatment that will work is treatment that fights the hormonal sensitivity of your follicles so that the body stops rejecting them. Anything that will reverse this will naturally work to restore hair on your scalp.

Secondly treatment that stimulates hair growth despite the hormonal problem causing can also work.
What this means is that a vast majority of treatments that we see in the market these days will not work because they do nether of these two things that we have just mentioned.

And so it should be very easy to analyze any treatment and make a very accurate assessment of its’ chances of working even before you have actually tried it. All you need to do is find out what the ingredients are and then do a little research on what those ingredients do to address either of the scenarios that we mentioned earlier to reverse hair loss.

The next question is bound to be; is there any hopeless situation where recovering hair growth is impossible whatever products are going to be used? The answer to that question is yes. Hair can be thickened anywhere where it is already growing. But an area that is already hairless is a lost cause. The hair loss treatment for men in this case is a hair transplant or a toupee.

Since hair transplants and wigs are very extreme steps the recommendation is that you should try treatment for hair loss first and do so for a prolonged period of say 2 years before you opt for a transplant or toupee.

And so whatever your situation is and no matter how much hair you have already thinning, the best way to go is to seek treatment for it first before you despair. Admittedly the huge challenge here is identifying treatment for hair loss in men that will work. Every advertised product out there that claims to be a hair loss treatment for men is screaming that it will work magically and virtually overnight.

That is yet another myth about hair loss treatment for men right there. You will need to be very patient and take a more long term approach to your recovery of hair. It is a gradual process and treatments usually need a minimum of one year to start working. And so don’t be a victim of any hype.
